I caught myself messaging a friend saying ‘sorry for the delay in replying, I’ve had a mad day at work’. Then realised every time I’ve messaged the same person I’ve said exactly the same. A mad day is normal.
I started this project to give myself something creative to do and push myself to try some different subjects. But actually it’s been interesting more to tell me something about my life and my work life balance. Every day I’m racing to get more done than I can do – not leaving any time for the project, other than clinging on. Certainly not interacting with anyone else.
It’s been a good lesson. Whether I can do anything about it is another matter.
