This adult bald eagle is held at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS), in Woodstock, VT. It suffered injuries that preclude its return to the wild. I like to think its fierce glare also expresses anger at the rise of bald-faced lying, psychotic conspiracies, violent bigotry, and mindless hostiity to science and critical thinking in the country it once proudly represented.
